Paralegals in Prince Edward Island
Each one's paralegal licence is confirmed against their licensing body's own public register.
A paralegal handles legal work in their own right rather than as a lawyer's assistant. Ontario is the only province that licenses paralegals to act for clients, which the Law Society of Ontario does for the small claims court, for tribunals, and for many provincial offence matters. Elsewhere in Canada the title usually describes somebody working under a lawyer's supervision rather than holding a licence of their own.
