Views of the child report writers in Saskatchewan
Each one's professional registration is confirmed against their regulator's own public register.
When a family court needs to understand what a child needs and what the child wants, it orders a report from an independent professional rather than relying on either parent. In British Columbia these are ordered under section 211 of the Family Law Act and cover the child's needs, the child's views, or a parent's ability to meet those needs; the shorter version covering only what the child wants is usually called a views of the child report. Ontario reaches the same result through the Office of the Children's Lawyer. In British Columbia the provincial Family Justice Services Division writes these reports free of charge when a court orders one, and its family justice counsellors cannot be hired privately. The professionals listed here are social workers and psychologists who write the reports privately, so each one is regulated by the college that governs their own profession rather than by a body for report writers.
